Schools This series of programmes provides progression from key stage 1 to A Level (Level 3) standard in spoken English. The emphasis is on effective speaking and listening skills with a practical focus. The aim is to develop clear, lively and articulate spoken English for presentation and communication, and to build confidence. Each candidate is individually assessed within a participating group. Candidates may progress by year group or may enter at the Grade relevant to their experience and ability. Levels 1-3, Junior 4 to ACSE and ACLA, are accredited by QCA as Graded Examination in Speech: Spoken Presentation Skills. GRADED EXAMINATION IN SPEECH
Junior Grades - key stages 1 & 2, year groups 1-6
ESB candidates taking Junior Grades normally build to Junior 4 and then move to a senior context at Senior 1. Candidates coming to ESB for the first time at senior level normally start at Senior Introductory. Candidates who have taken Senior 3 may progress either to Senior Proficiency, usually in the post-GSCE year, or build to ACSE or ACLA, with assessment usually taking place during the first part of the second sixth form year or at a comparable stage.
