EAL/ESOL

The focus of all ESB assessments is on interactive communication in a supportive atmosphere and environment. The opportunity to work in a participating group of peers allows the candidate to build in confidence and develop competence in listening and speaking skills whilst focusing on sharing knowledge, skills and understanding. It also allows the candidate to be assessed in a valid and realistic context.

Candidates, Teachers, Language School Directors or College Course Tutors in the UK or Overseas, will find that preparing for an ESB assessment is a rewarding experience!!

EAL/ESOL Spoken Communication & Presentation

ESB's EAL/ESOL qualifications are part of the national family of ESOL qualifications, mapped against the national standards for Adult Literacy - Spoken Communication. The qualifications are also mapped to the specifications for the Key Skills Unit Communication. ESB works within the framework of these standards, descriptors and specifications as well as the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum which is mapped to the same standards as Adult Literacy. The revised Handbook for 2002-2004 includes the two sets of mapping tables in the Appendices. Graded syllabuses range from Pre-Entry through to Level 3.

The EAL Equivalence Chart demonstrates the alignment of ESB's EAL/ESOL qualifications against the levels of the NQF and other relevant levels and standards and ESB should also like to draw your attention to the three qualifications at Pre-entry level.

EAL for Schools

EAL/ESOL for Schools Series begins with the Introductory Certificate of Success for pre-school and school children. May be awarded at Level 1 or 2.
